Chapin Library of Rare Books – The Chapin Library offers the students and faculty of Williams College, together with the wider community of scholars, exciting opportunities for learning and research. Crab Apple Whitewater – Family owned and operated since 1983, Crab Apple Whitewater, Inc. offers a wide variety of whitewater trips on rivers in New England. Forest Park Zoo – Our mission is to inspire our community to respect and value the natural world through education, conservation and rehabilitation. The Zoo offers a variety of educational programming for children and adults of all age groups and interests, including our award-winning Kids Go Wild, Wildlife on Wheels, Zoo Camp, Guided Tours and Discovery Programs. Through these programs and our static exhibits, The Zoo allows guests to explore multiple aspects of science while having fun.
Look Park – Look Memorial Park, consisting of more than one hundred and fifty acres, was a gift from Mrs. Fannie Burr Look in honor of her late husband, Frank Newhall Look. Mrs. Look provided the land, funds for its development, and a trust fund to help with upkeep. We feature Steam Train, Pedal Boats, Mini Golf, Christenson Wildlife Center, Water Spray Park, Play Grounds, Events, and Sweet Shoppe.
Jiminy Peak Ski Resort – Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort is the largest ski and snowboard resort in southern New England, summer home to Mountain Adventure Park and the only mountain resort in North America to generate its own energy using alternative wind power.
Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory & Gardens – The Lepidoptera source in Western Massachusetts, featuring an 8,000-square foot indoor conservatory home to nearly 4,000 exotic and domestic butterflies in a tropical environment, Magic Wings focuses on butterfly-related education, recreation, entertainment and gardening needs.
Mass Mutual Center – Featuring 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, plus an 8,000 seat arena, MassMutual Center is owned by the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority and managed by MGM Springfield.

Mohawk Trail – The Mohawk Trail is the first scenic road in New England. It officially opened on October 22, 1914. With 63 miles of unsurpassed splendor and 50,000 acres of state parks and forests, it’s an excellent vacation choice for fun and adventure for all ages during any season.
Mt. Greylock State Reservation – At 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. Rising above the surrounding Berkshire landscape, dramatic views of 60-90 miles distant may be seen. It became Massachusetts’ first wilderness state park, acquired by the Commonwealth in 1898, to preserve its natural environment for public enjoyment. ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance at Williams College – The ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance at Williams College supports theater and dance students in their pursuit of artistic excellence and serves as a world class venue for the Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Academy of Music – The mission of the Academy of Music is to enrich greater Northampton’s quality of life by offering first class performing arts and film presentations in an historic theatre of national significance, and encouraging the use of the venue for social, educational and professional events.
Bennington Battle Monument – Built in the late 1880’s, this monument is a dedication to the famous Battle of Bennington that took place during the Revolutionary war in 1777. It was at this location the American colonists maintained a store of weapons and food, which British General Burgoyne knew was critical to capture in order to restock his own troops.
Bennington Museum – The Bennington Museum was founded as the Bennington Historical Association in 1852 to celebrate Bennington’s Colonial past and, more specifically, to commemorate the historic Revolutionary War Battle of Bennington in 1777. Over time the museum acquired paintings and sculpture by Vermont artists, children’s toys, maps, books, and military artifacts.
Berkshire Botanical Garden – Our public display gardens are open May through mid-October. Both functional and ornamental, they are among the oldest in the US and have been expanded over the years in breadth and variety through a series of bequests and major gifts. Our collections emphasize plants that are indigenous to or thrive in the Berkshires; more than 3,000 species and varieties are represented.
Berkshire Theatre Group – Berkshire Theatre Group is the premier performing arts organization in Western Massachusetts. BTG encompasses 5 theaters in 3 towns throughout Berkshire County including the 780 seat Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, the 408 seat Fitzpatrick Main Stage in Stockbridge and the 122 seat Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge.
Children’s Museum at Holyoke – The Children’s Museum at Holyoke is dedicated to its mission to enhance the educational and cultural awareness of all children through the arts, the sciences, and the world around them. The Museum features participatory exhibits that invite interaction and programs which promote learning and self-discovery. Parents and adults who accompany children to the Museum are strongly encouraged to participate in the exhibits and have fun and enjoy the amazement through the little ones eyes.
Dr. Seuss Museum – The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, the newest museum on the Quad, is devoted to Springfield native Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss! The fully bilingual (Spanish and English) first floor features family friendly, interactive exhibits exploring Dr. Seuss’s Springfield roots and providing opportunities to experiment with new sounds and vocabulary, play rhyming games, and invent stories–all in line with Geisel’s revolutionary role in changing how we learn to read. The second floor, curated by Geisel’s two step daughters and great nephew, recreates Geisel’s studio and living room (with the furniture and art materials he actually used) and features never before publicly displayed art, family photographs and letters, and the original Geisel Grove sign which used to hang in Forest Park. You can even find Theophrastus, the toy stuffed dog Ted Geisel’s mother gave to him when he was a boy in Springfield.
Emily Dickinson Museum – Two historic houses in the center of Amherst, Massachusetts associated with the poet Emily Dickinson and members of her family.
Hancock Shaker Village – Set your watch back a century or two and see the Village come to life through vibrant programs, tours, exhibitions and hands-on activities. This beautifully restored village, set on 1,200 acres of farm, woodland and pasture, is home to the premier collection of Shaker buildings and artifacts.
Hopkins Observatory – Hopkins Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts (USA). Constructed in 1838 by Albert Hopkins, the college claims that it is the oldest observatory in America.
Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival – Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival is the ideal destination for a summer getaway. A National Historic Landmark and National Medal of Arts recipient, Jacob’s Pillow is nestled in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Called “the dance center of the nation” by The New York Times, the Pillow brings together dance, music, art, and culture.
Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) – Since opening in 1999, MASS MoCA has become one of the world’s premier centers for making and showing the best art of our time. With annual attendance of 120,000, it ranks among the most visited institutions in the United States dedicated to new art.
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is home to more than three hundred inductees and more than 40,000 square feet of basketball history. Located in Springfield, MA, hundreds of the museums interactive exhibits share the spotlight with skills challenges, live clinics, and shooting contests.
Norman Rockwell Museum – Founded in 1969 with the help of Norman and Molly Rockwell, Norman Rockwell Museum is dedicated to the enjoyment and study of Rockwell’s work and his contributions to society, popular culture, and social commentary. The Museum, which is accredited by the American Association of Museums, is the most popular year-round cultural attraction in the Berkshires.

Smith College Museum of Art – The Smith College Museum of Art (abbreviated SCMA), connected with the well-known Smith College, is a prominent art museum in Northampton, Massachusetts. It is considered to be one of the most impressive college museums in the country. The museum is best known for its remarkable compilation of American and European art of the 19th and 20th centuries, including superb works by Edgar Degas, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Gustave Courbet, Paul Cézanne, Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Albert Bierstadt, John Singer Sargent and others.

The Mount – The Mount is both an historic site and a center for culture inspired by the passions and achievements of Edith Wharton. Designed and built by Edith Wharton in 1902, the house embodies the principles outlined in her influential book, The Decoration of Houses (1897). The property includes three acres of formal gardens designed by Wharton, who was also an authority on European landscape design, surrounded by extensive woodlands.
Williams College Museum of Art – Widely considered one of the finest college art museums in the country, the Williams College Museum of Art is a department of Williams College. The mission of the WCMA is “to advance learning through lively and innovative approaches to art for the students of Williams College and communities beyond the campus.”

Birch Mountain Pottery – My work in clay, over the past 28 years, has been a steady development and unfolding of artistic evolution. It has become my vehicle for navigating the course from inward reflection to outward expression. I have come to realize that what is most important to me is the feeling a piece of pottery expresses, through its form, color and energy. Although there is not a specific subject matter my work relates to, I am certain that my environment, the things I love, and everyday experiences make slow, constant impressions on me and unconsciously find their way into my work.

Bushnell Park Carousel – It’s a sweet surprise to find a vintage 1914 carousel standing in Bushnell Park. There, by the shadow of skyscrapers and a giant Turkey Oak, a 24-sided pavilion houses 48 hand-carved wooden horses and two lovers’ chariots that swirl around a booming Wurlitzer band organ. The New England Carousel Museum in Bristol restored the horses to reflect the same fury that Russian immigrants Solomon Stein and Harry Goldstein first carved into their faces in 1914. Mass production and changing tastes led to the demise of hand carving and now collectors, buying up single horses, have dismantled hundreds of carousels. As a result, this carousel is only one of three Stein and Goldstein carousels left in existence.
Dinosaur State Park – A 200-million-year-old fossil trackway, nature trails, arboretum, and interactive exhibits bring the Mesozoic era to life. Explore a paleontological museum and enjoy the outdoors…all in one trip in a park like no other. The Park features over 750 early Jurassic dinosaur footprints — one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America — preserved in place viewable inside the museum, alongside exhibits about dinosaurs, fossils, Connecticut geology, and modern live animals.
Elizabeth Park Rose Garden – The Helen S Kaman Rose Garden is the center of Elizabeth Park. It is the first municipal rose garden in the United States and the third largest rose garden in the country today. Theodore Wirth began the design of the Rose Garden in September of 1903, and it opened in June, 1904. The Rose Garden began with about 190 varieties of roses; this eventually grew to almost 1,000 by the 1950s. Today, the Conservancy oversees and manages the Rose Garden, and needs to raise over $100,000 annually for rose expertise, full-time summer gardeners, contractor services, and fertilizer, mulch, lime, and replacement roses.

Hidden Valley Preserve – Northeast of Washington Depot is Hidden Valley, 940 acres of mixed forest and meadows crisscrossed by nearly 20 miles of trails that offer a variety of terrain for hiking. Wooded hillsides cascade into the River Valley below, creating breathtaking views from the Lookout and Pinnacle.
Hilltop Farm – Hilltop Farm was built by Indian Motorcycle co-founder, George Hendee, starting in 1913, as a gentleman’s retirement farm. Today, The Friends of the Farm at Hilltop (FOFAH), our nonprofit, owns 11 acres where the “Big White Barn”, outbuildings and former Stroh house sit. We lease 60 adjacent, conservation acres from the Town of Suffield through a long-term agreement. We’ve been renovating the buildings and maintaining the property since 2003. Our mission is to: Maintain a fun, recreational destination for your entire family to enjoy, and to bring this historic farm back to life with crops, animals, conservation areas and hands-on learning opportunities.
Hopkins Vineyard – In 1979, Bill and Judith Hopkins transformed their dairy farm into a vineyard, one of the first in what has become a thriving Connecticut industry. Since then, it has consistently produced award-winning whites, reds, and sparkling wines. Hopkins Vineyard grows 12 varieties of grapes in a spectacular setting overlooking Lake Waramaug.
Infinity Music Hall – Named Best of Hartford Magazine’s “Best Concert Venue”, “Best Place for Live Music”, “Best Special Events Venue” from 2016-2018. Infinity Music Hall Norfolk opened its doors in 2007. The venue, originally built in 1883 as a combination opera house, barbershop, and saloon- has been restored to include a world-class sound system and modern facilities, but still retains its original stage and ornate detail. In 2014, Infinity Music Hall Hartford opened. Like the Norfolk location, Hartford provides an intimate music & entertainment experience, where every seat in the house feels like the front row.
Kingdom of the Hawk Vineyard – Kingdom of the Hawk was purchased in 2018 and vines were planted almost immediately. The contemporary barn, located on 50 acres of farmland in North Stonington, CT, is a nod to the agricultural heritage of the town. Its location on the edge of the hill highlights the sprawling views of vines, forest and wildlife. In keeping with its sister property Saltwater Farm Vineyard, Kingdom of the Hawk fuses historical perspective and contemporary construction. Connecticut Science Center – The Connecticut Science Center is dedicated to inspiring lifelong learning through interactive and innovative experiences that explore our changing world through science. With more than 165 hands-on exhibits, a 3D digital theater, four educational labs, daily LIVE Science experience, a host of special programming and family events, and home to Connecticut’s only year-round indoor tropical Butterfly habitat – Butterfly Encounter. The Connecticut Science Center offers endless exploration for children, teens, and adults. Our architecturally stunning building is a 154,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility overlooking the Connecticut River and conveniently located in downtown Hartford with easy access from I-84 and I-91 and easy on-site parking.
Mark Twain House & Museum – Mark Twain is an enduring symbol of America. He rose from poverty and suffered hardship and great loss, but he never lost his desire to understand and help his fellow human beings, call out wrongs, speak truth to power, give voice to those who had none, and present America to the rest of the world, warts and all. We preserve and present to visitors from around the world the house from which sprang most of Twain’s greatest works.
Nathan Hale Homestead, Hartford – At the Nathan Hale Homestead, it is 1776, and a war for independence is underway. Learn how members of the Hale family supported the war effort by gathering supplies, helping their neighbors, and serving in the Continental Army. Nathan Hale, Connecticut’s State Hero, was born on the property in 1755. He was recruited as one of America’s earliest spies, but was caught and hanged by the British in September 1776. In the early 20th century, historic preservationist George Dudley Seymour purchased the home from a family still farming the property and restored it to honor Nathan Hale’s story.
Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden – The Phelps-Hatheway House & Garden highlights the luxurious lifestyle enjoyed by two wealthy 18th-century Connecticut Valley families until their fortunes collapsed. Suffield native Shem Burbank built the center chimney structure in 1761 where he and his wife Anna Fitch Burbank raised nine children. Due to the unstable national economy during and after the American Revolution, the family’s financial situation suffered. In 1788, he sold the house to Oliver Phelps originally of Windsor, who served as Deputy Commissary under George Washington. In 1794, Phelps commissioned the addition of a substantial wing decorated with imported Parisian wallpaper. Wickham Park – Wickham Park is a non-profit, private foundation whose property extends into both Manchester and East Hartford, Connecticut. The park contains 280 acres of gardens, open fields, woodlands, ponds, picnic areas, sports facilities, and is the proud host of weddings, receptions, fundraising walks, disc golf tournaments, tree tours, garden tours, car shows, cross country races, family and friend gatherings, and Santa’s Workshop!
